Yang Chow Chowdown: The Ultimate + 1PHP Weekday Deals at Super Bowl of China!

I'm happy to say that  I had quite an event filled weekend. I joined my first fun run and ran 4K in the morning, headed home to rest for a bit and went to Super Bowl of China in Glorietta 4 to cover their Ultimate Yang Chow Chowdown Challenge. Truth be told, I was feeling really drained but the event was so  interesting to miss and I'm always one to keep my word. :)

Part II - Super Bowl of China Yang Chow Chowndown : The Ultimate

This was actually the second of two events for their Unli Yang Chow promo, a limited time offer for diners to eat as many Yang Chow to their heart's content for the unbelievable price of only P50. Due to the success of the first Yang Chow eating contest, Super Bowl of China decided to close their Unli Yang Chow promo by doing another Yang Chow Chowdown challenge.

There were 5 participants  for The Yang Chow Chowdown Challenge, these were 5 diners who ate the most number of bowls based on their Yang Chow leaderboard, they're the best of the best from all across the Super Bowl of China branches! Tagged as the Unstoppable 5, I had no doubts that this was gonna be a very tough fight.

The Unstoppable 5:
  • Aljon Mortega
  • Vincent Rebultan
  • Ryan Tanada
  • Jan Magdaraog
  • Amorsolo Tecson

Super Bowl of China prepared very well for this event, I lost count on how many bowls were ready to be served for the challengers! What exactly was the challenge? Simple, the winner will be the challenger who would have eaten the most number of Yang Chow bowls in under 10 minutes! There should be no spillage and that any of them can get disqualified at any moment if the panel of judges deem that they are not fit to join anymore. Should there be a draw, there would be another round, but this time it would run under 2 minutes only.

The ultimate champion will take home the ultimate prize, a Super Bowl Party Package good for 30 persons worth P10,200! Now, that certainly is a prize worth fighting for.

Let the challenge begin! The energy was high and it was fascinating to see the challengers take different strategies to win. Some would gulp down tons of water, some would not even drink a drop, some would take their sweet time while some would attack a bowl with speed.

Final Tally:
  • Aljon Mortega - 6 bowls under 10 minutes
  • Amorsolo Tecson - 7 bowls under 10 minutes
  • Vincent Rebultan - 5 bowls under 10 minutes
  • Jan Magdaraog - 11 bowls under 10 minutes
  • Ryan Tanada  - 10 bowls under 10 minutes

Wow, that was a close fight between Jan and Ryan! Jan Magdaraog is the Yang Chow Chowdown: The Ultimate Champion! Pretty sure his family and friends will very much enjoy the Super Bowl Party Package. I came to the event feeling poofed out but all the high energy in the crowd was so contagious that I went home in high spirits. See you on my next pig out session. :)
