The Old Spaghetti House

Call it TOSH or The Old Spaghetti House, this has been intriguing me for a long time now, with their fancy decors it looked to me at first that their prices may not be so affordable. One day though, while BF and I were at the mall and we were debating where to eat, when I said "let's eat at TOSH." He agreed immediately.

Good thing because now I know despite it's fancy decors, they still offer affordable prices to their customers without sacrificing the taste and quantity. We were the 1st customers of the day (I think) that's why we wasted no time, took our seats and scanned their menu.

I took a couple of pictures while we were waiting for our food. I loved how cozy their decors were, it felt old school. One thing I didn't like though, was that the seats are cramped together and you don't get much space with their tables.

After realizing that they serve onion rings and knowing that I haven't tried a single onion ring all my life, I knew I had to order one. Our onion rings were served first while we were waiting for our pastas.

It was good, served hot, crispy and tasty. I liked their presentation and that they put in a lot of dip. I think I like onion rings now.

BF ordered their Chicken and Mushroom Pasta and it was OK, there was some thing missing in the flavor but I won't complain on its quantity.

Another thing, I don't like their garlic bread. So I gave away the garlic bread that came with my pasta.

Finally, here's my Pasta Marinara, steaming hot and generously sprinkled with lots of cheese!

Home Made Sushi

BF and I have been fans of Japanese food for some time now. Maybe because we have worked for Japanese people in our previous company. That, or maybe Japanese food is just so delish and healthy for you.

We all know how sushi can be so expensive when you dine outside, and we think that some times, we do not get our money's worth. So I searched for YouTube videos on how to make sushi. Surprisingly enough, it seemed quite easy.

So one afternoon we went out to buy the ingredients we needed for our first sushi making attempt.

We cooked the Japanese rice first and allowed it to cool. Mixed in some salt, MSG, and rice vinegar to give the rice extra flavor. Make sure that you let the rice cool down before you put it on nori because you will ruin the nori.

For my first sushi attempt, I put in some sliced mango, crab meat slices, and a generous amount of Japanese mayo. You can use the ordinary kind of mayo, but sushi tastes best if you use Japanese ingredients.

BF and I made a whole sushi platter that day, good thing though 'cause the sushi was gone in a snap! His family loved it! And there you go, my first sushi attempt. Looks nice no?

Pizza Hut

I accompanied BF one day to get his Samsung P2370 LCD monitor from the mall, I was persuading him that we eat at Pizza Hut because we haven't dined there together. BF was hesitant at first because it was just a regular day and he told me that maybe we should just dine there another time.

Well, what I want I get. Hehe, BF finally gave in and we found ourselves sitting in their well lit and cozy restaurant.

I'm just so in love with their walls, so creative, colorful and gives the place a certain kind of lift.

I knew I had to have my pasta fix for the week, and while waiting for our pizza to be served I started pigging out on their 3 cheese ravioli with garlic bread. I must say it was fine considering it was sort of cheap, around P200-250, I think. Lots of sauce and each bite gives you a cosmic combination of cheeses being blended in your palate.

Although I didn't liked their garlic bread so much, it was just so-so. Sbarro's garlic bread still tops my list.

With a lot of pizza choices, we had quite a hard time choosing. In the end we followed the staff's suggestion of super supreme pizza, which was one of their best sellers. We upgraded the crust to cheesy volcano. Yes, I don't like boring thick crust that seems to be the most boring part of the pizza.

We ordered some cheese dip to go with our pizza, for adding only P29 that was a lot of cheese dip.

Their bottomless iced tea tastes a bit bitter at first sip, it eventually gets sweeter anyhow. I don't know about you but I still find Tokyo Tokyo's red iced tea on top of my list.

Their prices are a bit steep and since I think I prefer Yellow Cab's pizza to theirs, BF and I will be coming back to Pizza Hut, but not sooner than we expect.

Pho Hoa

It was a Saturday night and was very hungry after a 3 hour session with my dermatologist. BF and I agreed that we were to dine in Pho Hoa to try what their food tastes like. Since I have no idea on what their best sellers are because I didn't researched, I just based my orders on what photos looked drool worthy. I kid you not! Hehe.

We were given some lemon wedges, bean sprouts and some veggie leaves, which were supposed to go with our noodles. I only used the zest of the lemon for my noodle's soup.

BF ordered their large Pho Beef noodles. It had rice noodles which were very heavy and quite filling, meatballs and beef.

I ordered their delish looking garlic shrimps with garlic rice. For a price of less than P200-250, I'm sorry I can't remember, this was heaven sent! Plenty of succulent and tasty shrimps and I could really taste the wonderful sautéed garlic flavor! The rice also tasted good and it was too much! I was already bursting but I just couldn't resist trying one of their desserts.

Lastly, their mango crepe with vanilla ice cream doesn't convince me that much. It was OK but not spectacular in taste. But I guess with their serving amount which consists of a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and preparation it was an eye candy sight to behold.

It was near closing time but we got a good place to sit, the table was clean and the staff even placed large white papers on our tables, which I think is a waste of paper considering how many of these papers they throw away everyday after using. We only had water but the friendly crew kept on refilling our glasses and that was a very good plus for me. BF and I also love the paintings and the cool and comfy overall ambiance of the place.

Our orders came in pretty fast enough and accompany that with the efficiency and customer friendliness of all their staff, I think BF and I will be going back to Pho Hoa soon.

Here It Goes

Hi guys!

After a long time, here I am again with another blog. It's still pretty much under construction and I have no blogs up yet, but there will be lots, soon.

Starting a food photo blog has always been in my mind and the only problem I have is the time I need to devote to it, so here's to hoping that I get to take care of my newest blog well.

Cheers!
