Pepper Lunch

Being a casual diner in Sizzlin' Pepper Steak, I couldn't help myself but be fascinated and curious about the competition. Specially since majority of the reviews I read favor Pepper Lunch over Sizzlin' Pepper Steak.  So one weekend my BFF Batch and I hooked up and was passing time before we watch Kick-Ass when we mutually agreed to try Pepper Lunch.

I was just supposed to buy their Beef Pepper Rice but Batch insisted that for my blog's sake I should try one of their best sellers. So I thought, why not right? I easily gave in and ordered their Beef Teriyaki Pepper Rice.  It came hot and looking so inviting that I greedily and impatiently waited for my beef to cook.

What a wonderful discovery it was. The beef had just the right kind of sweet and salty flavor. The meat was oh so juicy and felt as if it melts in my mouth, plus the teriyaki sauce that goes with it was just too perfect! Even though I kept on pouring and pouring the sauce, it wasn't overpowering the meat instead complimented it very very well.

My order came with a separate cup of pepper rice.  I love it that it has a LOT of corn and spring onions on top.  Garnishing alone makes me a happy camper.

Their soup of the day was, I think crab and corn? I'm not really sure right now, hate it that my memory fails me, but my memory hasn't failed me to remember that the soup was good enough, I just wished they would serve it steaming hot too.

Batch's order was their Beef Pepper Rice. If I remember right she had a very hard time finishing it. She burnt her tongue cause she was so hungry, hehe. Next time I will try this one too. ;)

Batch's soup preference was their Miso Soup. I forgot to have a taste so I have no idea if it tastes good or good enough.

For dessert, I tried their Shake! Shake! Kani Salad. Although it had a little bit too much mayo. I was also pleasantly surprised to see it had noodles/ pasta in it. The salad looked like a teeny tiny thing in a plastic cup, but it was filling enough.

My overall experience with their food was pleasant enough, I just don't like much how cramped their place is. Tables are too close together that I really can't privately enjoy my food when people across or near our table can almost cross examine us. But hey! I can forgive and disregard that part simply because the food is great. So..am I a Pepper Lunch patron now? You bet. I'll certainly be back for more. :)
