Goldilocks: Fresh Lumpia

Fresh Lumpia
Estimated at P58.00 or $1.27

This is the reason why I keep coming back to Goldilocks. Aside from their delish baked lasagna, I often crave and drool over their fresh lumpia. A combination of fresh vegetables and chopped meat expertly rolled into freshly made wrapper and generously drizzled with peanut sauce for that extra crunch.

The wrapper seems to be a little thinner, the veggies lesser, but the taste still the same goodness.

Tok - Yu Sushi Bar and Japanese Restaurant

My BFF and I were famished last Monday after spending at least 5 hours in a Victor Ortega Salon pampering ourselves silly. Batch wasn't digging Japanese food that much, but since her former officemates were practically raving about this place and their food, she personally suggested it to me.

Upon entering the restaurant, it looked like it had a half-baked design. It was a Japanese Restaurant, granted a little cheaper, but the chairs and tables just didn't fit. But hey, I was there for the food, the ambiance failed me so I had high hopes for how yummy their food was supposed to be.

Burger King: Whopper

BK Whopper
Estimated at P180.00 or $3.95

There are A LOT of burger joints here and there, but I just keep coming back to the goodness of BK's Whopper burger. Granted it is not that cheap, but the patty is guaranteed to be juicy and flavorful. Combine that with plenty of fresh veggies and what seems to me like a special blend of mayonnaise with just the right amount of sweetness. If a Krabby Patty was for real, I'd say this is how it should taste like. Okay, now I just made myself hungry.

Personal: My Renovated Room

For years my room has been plain old boring. While studying I couldn't persuade my parents to have my room renovated, so there was no use since of course I couldn't afford it. But now...I have my work that humbly speaking pays well enough, I decided it's time for that much needed renovation.

Renovating a room was easier said than done when you really don't have a particular theme in mind, I spent a couple of days Googling(this isn't even a word!) bedroom designs. I switched from green >> black >> black and white >> black and violet >> black and maroon until finally to black and violet theme. Finally! Talk about indecisive huh?

BF and I went shopping for the ceiling light, and it was pretty much a hard task since there were so many designs, until I finally chose the ceiling light that can accommodate 4 light bulbs and has that swirly capiz shell like design.

Gumbo: Mozzarella Sticks

Mozzarella Sticks (Petite)
P255.00 or $5.48

All I can say is this will be a staple in my orders when I dine in Gumbo or any other restaurant that offers this. It's gooey, stringy, hot on the inside and each bite offers the exact amount of crunchiness on the outside. The cheese itself tastes just right, never too salty nor bland. Plus, I never would have thought that this goes well with a salsa dip! Granted that it isn't really budget friendly costing you that much for only 5 pieces of mozzarella sticks, but I vouch that your money is worth it. I'd take this anytime of the day compared to KFC's lame attempt, if you get my drift.

Goldilocks: Baked Lasagna

*Price Estimate Only
P600.00 - 800.00 or $12.92 - 17.22

I forgot the price of their Baked Lasagna but I certainly did not forget how awesome it tastes. Unlike other lasagnas out there, Goldilocks's baked lasagna is sweet and salty, each flavor not overpowering each other.  The pasta is baked to perfection, no pieces to mushy or half baked. Plenty of ooey gooey cheese and ground beef too! Also, what I really love about Goldilocks's baked lasagna is that the serving amount is humongous!

This is perfect for office parties, or for those special occasions at home, or maybe even when you just miss the authentic and delectable taste of Goldilocks's baked lasagna. I wouldn't wonder why lasagna is Garfield's favorite when it tastes as yummy the way Goldilocks does it.

Gumbo: Creme Brulee

Creme Brulee
P195.00 or $4.22

I often grumble on how desserts are too sweet, don't worry though,  this post isn't one of them. Gumbo's Creme Brulee just hits the right spot and tickles my sweet tooth just enough to leave me craving for more rather than making me cringe and gag due too much sugar.

What's under the crunchy caramelized top is a heavenly sweet sensation that almost seems to simply melt in my mouth and then send me to the most delicately sweet sugar rush I will ever happily hold on to.

Their Creme Brulee serving is even big enough for two people. Try one this week and make it even better by sharing with a special someone. :)

Mey Lin Pot And Noodle House

My love for Mey Lin's hand pulled noodles began mid 2009 I think, I'd have to thank my former officemate for letting BF and I know about their awesome food. Sadly though, since I'm currently working at home, and home is located in a far, far, far away place, when I crave for Mey Lin's noodles, I almost cry. Just kiddin'.

There are a few branches of Mey Lin Pot And Noodle House around but BF and I prefer to dine in with the one inside Megamall. After months of craving, our taste buds and tummies were finally satisfied after going to Pasig for a programming sideline of his, we made sure to drop by Mey Lin right after. (I actually ate nothing on the way so that I pig out!)

Upon being seated, they will give you a pot of lukewarm tea on the house. Frankly, I'm not much into tea, except if it's cold and flavorful. The taste is just subtle, but hey as I said I'm not a tea lover so I'm not really an expert in rating so let me steer clear away from that. :)
