Mey Lin Pot And Noodle House

My love for Mey Lin's hand pulled noodles began mid 2009 I think, I'd have to thank my former officemate for letting BF and I know about their awesome food. Sadly though, since I'm currently working at home, and home is located in a far, far, far away place, when I crave for Mey Lin's noodles, I almost cry. Just kiddin'.

There are a few branches of Mey Lin Pot And Noodle House around but BF and I prefer to dine in with the one inside Megamall. After months of craving, our taste buds and tummies were finally satisfied after going to Pasig for a programming sideline of his, we made sure to drop by Mey Lin right after. (I actually ate nothing on the way so that I pig out!)

Upon being seated, they will give you a pot of lukewarm tea on the house. Frankly, I'm not much into tea, except if it's cold and flavorful. The taste is just subtle, but hey as I said I'm not a tea lover so I'm not really an expert in rating so let me steer clear away from that. :)

BF and I placed our orders and waited. You can see at the front portion of their store how their hand pulled noodles are made from scratch. Usually on busy days there are about 2-3 men inside doing the noodles, I guess we dined on a not so busy hour.

Fried Beancurd
P110.00 or $2.37

I have not tried any other version of this so I might be exaggerating when I say, I love this! The outside of the bean curd is perfectly fried to crunchiness and yet the inside melts in my mouth! No funny after taste too! I will definitely look forward to having this again anytime!

Steamed Shrimp Dumplings
P170.00 or $3.67

This was BF's order but he happily shared with me. For the price I'd have to say it is definitely worth it! The dumplings were soft and also had that melt in your mouth quality. It had a subtle sweet taste because of it is jam packed with shrimp inside!

Seafood Noodle Soup (Meal Size)
Around P195.00  or $4.2

This was the star of the day, our favorite, their seafood noodle soup. Hand made and hand pulled noodles, with refreshing soup and loaded with vegetables and lots of seafood. Just goes to show that they don't scrimp on the ingredients! You can eat this as is or add a little spiciness with chili flakes (in oil? haha, I'm not sure) I prefer mine to have a little kick of spiciness.

We had their meal size because we were so famished! But guess what? I still had a hard time finishing mine up. If you're a light eater you can ask one meal size of the noodles to be divided into two!

Mey Lin Pot and Noodle House is one of those restaurants that proves that you don't have to spend that much to eat excellent and great tasting food. I really recommend this place, go ahead and dine in a near branch soon!
