Office Lunch Out At Next Door

The Ultimate Noodles
PHP 238.00 or $ 5.55

"All tables full at North Park? Go to Next Door." It has a nice ring to it, right? so we went and pigged out Next Door. :)

My officemates and I wanted to dine somewhere new. Okay, if ever they're reading this scratch that thought! I wanted to dine somewhere new, and our Business Analyst suggested Next Door which according to him had the same menu as North Park. Believe it or not I haven't tried dining at North Park, so all signals point green for me. The only problem was that most of the food were good for sharing, I said my officemates and I don't do that. To which our Business Analyst replied, then it was time we started sharing. There's always a first for everything. :P

Back to regular programming! The ULTIMATE Noodles. the name is really justified. It was overflowing with toppings from wanton, mushroom, fried pork ribs, and tendons but wait, there's more! Beneath all of that is a lot of noodles and steaming broth that had the right subtle taste. This is best enjoyed while still hot, so don't order other dishes or else I promise you that you won't be able to wipe the bowl clean like what happened to us. True story.

Stir Fry Beef With Chinese Broccoli
PHP 198.00 or $ 4.62

It was love at first bite. I had never tasted Beef Broccoli this good awesome! The beef slices were all meat, very tender and tasty too! Add to that plenty of sliced button mushrooms and crisp to the bite, broccoli slices. This is the best Beef Broccoli ever. Period.

Salted Garlic Squid
PHP 178.00 or $ 4.15

Eugene, one of the developers, ordered a platter of this. Sad to say that the good start of my impressions for Next Door went almost kaput. I don't know if I'm expecting too much. You guys can make better deep fried squid at home, I'm pretty sure about that. So if you're planning on going to Next Door, skip this.

Salted Fish Jaded Rice
PHP 138.00 or $ 3.22

I have to be honest, I don't know if this is the Jaded Rice or the Chinese Bagoong with Lechon Macau Fried Rice. Please don't blame me, they look the same! :)

One of the devs is a Muslim by faith so we have to choose a rice that has no pork in it, hence the 2 different fried rice orders. An order of their fried rice is good for 2-3 persons already and I can guarantee that what they say is true. I love it that they don't scrimp on the veggies.

Boneless Honey Lemon Chicken
PHP 195.00 or $ 4.55

Well, compared to Chowking's pathetic attempt at Lemon Chicken, this one's actually a thousand times better and doesn't taste anywhere near a cough syrup. I just can't get myself to fall in love with Lemon Chicken YET.

Chinese Bagoong (Anchovy) with Lechon Macau Fried Rice
PHP 138.00 or 3.22

Phew, what a long name. Again I'm just guessing that this is the fried rice I am referring to. Jim (BA) was extra thoughtful for Gamar (DEV), that he really instructed our server to put the lechon macau slices on the side so everyone can enjoy both fried rice platters.

Both of their fried rice platters have generous servings, but I feel that since the viands we ordered were all so tasty on their own, I didn't get to appreciate the fried rice platters. Normally cooked rice will do for me next time. Yes, there should be and will be a next time. See you on my next pig out sessions. :)
