My corporate career may have set a physical distance with my ACS/Cognizant officemates, but distance is irrelevant when it comes to people you keep in your heart (ang cheesy!). This is why the celebrations still continue, now which restaurant would be more apt for food loving souls to unite? Nowhere else than at Vikings, of course!

Dessert Overload at Kitchen's Best Home Pâtisserie!
It's not an everyday thing to get invited to stuff your face with delectable treats and indulge in an unlimited dessert buffet, so it's a no-brainer that this was an event I couldn't resist. I do know I should be sticking to my diet, so let's just call this a major cheat day. :)

OVN Bread Co: Not Your Ordinary Bread
I found myself in wandering in SM Aura Premier a few weekends ago. I was actually looking for a pastry store to buy a cake for a friend and felt being lured into this particular store with too good looking to eat bread with catchy, quirky names. I was quick to grab a tray and thongs and went berserk piling pretty breads on my tray. Right then and there, I knew I was in trouble.

Flavors of Naga: Kambingan Restaurant
I'm a sissy when it comes to trying out exotic things but if you try really hard, I just ~might~ change my mind. This was the case when I had a dinner date with College friends in Naga, of all places, and finally had my first taste of chevon.

Send-Off Lunch At Hokkaido Ramen Santouka
For my second and official send-off celebration, I was thinking of going Japanese. To my officemates and friends, that's probably a given. I had my mind's eye set to Yabu's sinfully enticing Salmon Katsu but Yabu doesn't accept reservations and it always is jam-packed during peak hours. I didn't want my officemates to starve on account of me, so my backup plan was to try out Hokkaido Ramen Santouka based on the decent reviews online.

There Ain't No Party Like A Swensen's Ice Cream Party!
A few weeks ago, I was feeling a bit dejected and scared due to work relocation issues. I have been reporting to the same client for more than 2 years, that the news definitely felt like I was a fish being reeled out of water. So I decided my send-off party will not happen just once, but as many times as possible. One of them was an ice cream party, because as they say "I've never met a problem a proper dessert couldn't fix".

Flavors of Naga: Cravings Satisfied at Okuya
I have so many backlogs and yet I'm still in my Naga series. So please bear with me since I really want to complete this series before I move on to the next events, so there's a sense of closure. :P
I do realize that Okuya or any Japanese themed restaurant can be found almost anywhere, but I can't help it that I automatically crave for sushi maybe at least once a week. Good thing Okuya just recently opened in Magsaysay Ave, my grumbling tummy was soon to be appeased.

Flavors of Naga: Working Friday at The Pro Chef's Office
It was a working Friday for me but we wanted to go and pig out, plus it was kinda getting dull staying indoors like I did the day before. Good thing Batch knows about this homey, culinary cafe called The Pro Chef's Office.

Flavors of Naga: My First Taste of Kinalas
Before I left for Naga, I pestered asked my officemate Joey to give me the ultimate list of must-try Naga specialties. He mentioned Laing Pizza, Toasted Siopao to name a few but what caught my attention the most was Kinalas. I couldn't imagine what it was like and that made me want to try it all the more.

Flavors of Naga: Quick Lunch at Geewan
Though I blog about food, there are still certain dishes I'd dare not try like goat meat or anything exotic sounding. Yes I know, I'm a bore! BUT during my recent working vacation in Naga, I surprised myself. I ATE A SHARK!

Breads by Purple Oven
When I hear Purple Oven, decadent cakes and pies come to mind, that was why I was extra giddy when Batch handed me a box from Purple Oven a few weeks ago. I opened it immediately and I was greeted by *tadaaaa* bread overload!

Take a Trip to Southeast Asia at Crimson Hotel's Cafe Eight

Feeling Tipsy or Staying Sober? Have it Your Way at Tipsy Beans!
I remember it was just early this year that my office mate and good friend, Sybil mentioned to me that she and her husband were planning to put up a coffee shop together with a few friends and their in-laws. No, this isn't your typical, generic and around the corner coffee shop. The main idea of Tipsy Beans can be summarized in two options: Tipsy or Sober? I was intrigued by the concept that I committed to myself that I'd try dining there once it opened.

Yang Chow Chowdown: The Ultimate + 1PHP Weekday Deals at Super Bowl of China!
I'm happy to say that I had quite an event filled weekend. I joined my first fun run and ran 4K in the morning, headed home to rest for a bit and went to Super Bowl of China in Glorietta 4 to cover their Ultimate Yang Chow Chowdown Challenge. Truth be told, I was feeling really drained but the event was so interesting to miss and I'm always one to keep my word. :)

The Ayala Triangle Chronicles: Lunch Date at Banapple
So many restaurants, so little time. Would you believe I have never ever dined at Banapple since it started last 2007? That's why I'm happy that fast forward to 2013, I was able to finally try some of their best sellers. Better late than never! I think I overly use that saying lately :)

Instagram Roundup
I've been on a blogging funk lately, hence the lack of posts. I do have a legit excuse, I've been catching up on my sketching skills and it feels awesome. I feel bad though because reading, gaming, and blogging have been put in the backseat for the meantime. Fret not, I hope my Instagram roundup post will suffice at the moment. First off, Pizza Hut's Veggie Supreme Pizza (Stuffed Crust) with extra beef toppings!

I Love You Yabu: The House of Katsu
I have been a long time patron of Yabu, it's just that when I started dining here regularly, I was still on blogging hiatus back then, that's why I'm only getting to blog my addiction to Yabu now. I guess it's better late than never, right?

Home Made Banana Chocolate Waffles
I've been spending too much time watching Cooking channels on YouTube lately that I bought a waffle maker on impulse. Not that I'm regretting my decision, who doesn't love waking up to crisp on the edges, sweetly addicting, and visually enticing waffles?

Akira: The Art of Sushi and Teppanyaki (An Instant Favorite!)
I live for Japanese food, I crave for ramen, sushi, kani salad and other mouth-watering Japanese staples all the time! Luckily for me, I'm not alone. Ekai shares the same love for Japanese food that I can't help but realize that most of our pig out sessions are in Japanese restaurants. I think the the idiom "birds of the same feather, flock together" really is true.

Matgalne Restaurant: All-You-Can-Grill Liempo & Beef With 20+ Unlimited Korean Side Dishes!
Last week, Matgalne Korean Restaurant invited me and 2 of my friends to try out their lunch buffet where we could grill unlimited liempo/pork and beef, plus enjoy more than 20 Korean side dishes. Wow! Now that sounds like a major pig out session, don't you agree?
I tagged Batch and Yumi along for the event. Since I live in Makati, the restaurant was conveniently less than 30mins. away from my apartment. We were advised that it was near St. Giles Hotel and that I should look for an orange building. I was expecting their store front to display their English name, but at the time of our visit, it only showed their Korean name, so we just got off our cab and hoped we were in the right place. Luckily, we were. :)

Ninja Paparazzi Mode At Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen
Last Saturday, I met up with Ekai at Shangri-La Plaza Mall to watch Fast & Furious 6 and also to pig out at this ramen place that recently opened in the additional east wing. We only went for the food but as it turns out, we got more than what we came for! It was an unusually awesome day, find out why after the jump!

3 YouTube Cooking Channels That Will Make Your Mouth Water
Even on my most stressful days, I wouldn't call it a day if I didn't spend a few minutes hours, stuck in YouTube and watching random cooking videos. There are a LOT of cooking channels out there, but there's only a few I keep coming back to. :)

Wednesdate at Uncle Cheffy
I've been working near SM Mall of Asia for almost 2 years now that I've seen how the corporate towers have developed over time. I've been to the Two E-Com center but never really thought of going to the 4th floor where some restaurants have been operating for several months now, last night week I'm glad I finally took the time to peek in.

Crispy Chicken Soft Tacos
Ever since I started living alone I find myself frequently browsing cooking and recipe websites to see if I could whip up something new, you never know when you'll stumble on something so devilishly wonderful. Case in point, remember the no-cook refrigerator oatmeal post? I liked it so much that it's now breakfast staple of mine!

Appetite Magazine x Megaworld Lifestyle Malls Present Gourmet Masterpieces: Food, Fashion & Art
Once in a while the universe hands you something that's bigger than what you expected and you can only wonder and marvel how in the world did it happen, that's the very same feeling I got when I got invited to the Gourmet Masterpieces event. I was very intimidated to say the least, though I'm not the one to pass up from something that sounds exciting as this, and right now I'm pretty glad I grabbed the opportunity.
Each painting recreated wonderfully through gourmet dishes by participating restaurants/companies and couture gowns and dresses made by renowned designers. Can it get better than that? :)

The Overnight, No~Cook Refrigerator Rolled Oatmeal Project: Apple Cinnamon & Mango Vanilla
I love healthy eating, but with the somehow limited choices I imposed on myself I was getting pretty fed up of munching on salads ever so often. I'm really glad I stumbled onto this recipe from The Yummy Life, because I have more healthy breakfast alternative choices at hand!

The Salad Project: Kani Mango Salad + Black Bean Salad
Me and Japanese cuisine, it's a love story that has been going on and going strong for years, but ever since I have been opting for healthier food choices, it's a given that I can't go on my usual sushi roll *sobs*. I could easily go on a sushi detox, but to stay away from kani mango salad? That's a different story.

Friday Night Pig Out at Watami
I was supposed to be blogging about Yabu House of Katsu today, but we were just so tired and grumpy last Friday night that after being in the waiting queue for around half an hour (or more), we gave up our reservation and made a bee line to Watami because we wanted our Japanese food fix and it wouldn't hurt to try some place new (at least to us!).

The Salad Project
I have always loved eating my veggies (except bitter gourd) ever since I was a kid, and it's a good thing I still do, now that I'm an adult. Nowadays, people can easily fall and stick into the bad habit of unhealthy eating. I do know how hard it is to succumb to your hot fudge sundae craving, or your weekly milk tea fix, or a serving of those crisp golden fries or even letting your guard fall down for those sinful donuts you keep on seeing everyday on your way to work. I should know, I work near SM Mall of Asia. Imagine the temptations I fight everyday. *shudders*

A Spoonful of Heaven at Swensen's
Strawberry Chocolate Lava
250.00 PHP or around 6.13 USD
Hello world! I feel like I'm feeling a bit lost here. I've been on blogging hiatus since early 2012 and have updated this blog sporadically, with non food related posts mostly, but I just want to say that I'm back! When Swensen's invites me (an inactive and delinquent food blogger!), who am I to say no? So I said YES. :)

Drunken Garlic Shrimps a la Madz
Truth be told I miss blogging, terribly. So this is my way of saying a quick hello and yes I'm still alive and kicking post. :)
I had been craving for shrimps for quite a few weeks now, and this week I gave in. Instead of using any liquor though, I used Sprite soda. These shrimps are not really drunk at all hahaha, but they tasted so good! I guess that's it for now, I'll just peek in again from time to time. Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers,
M
