I have been a long time patron of Yabu, it's just that when I started dining here regularly, I was still on blogging hiatus back then, that's why I'm only getting to blog my addiction to Yabu now. I guess it's better late than never, right?
I am a self-confessed Goma (Roasted Sesame) dressing addict! I literally drown my cabbage salad with lots of Goma dressing and just the right drizzling of the vinaigrette dressing. I was surprised to see a new type of dressing, Wasabi. Do try it if you're curious enough, I unfortunately found it lacking that special kick since it is Wasabi after all.
Ah, the sesame seeds. A trip to Yabu is not complete without this ritual. I love grinding my own sesame seeds and mixing in the katsu sauce, I get to have a little fun. The wonderful smell is so enticing and it's a positive omen of what's to come.
Salmon Katsu Set. 475.00 PHP or 8.55 USD. I've tried the Menchi, Rosu and Hire Katsu Sets but I keep coming back to this. There's nothing else greater when it comes to your first love. Hahaha! Flaky, moist and flavorful salmon pieces coated with panko bread crumbs and deep fried to medium-well perfection, what's not to love?
I've dined countless of times but only learned recently that even the miso soup was unlimited! The cabbage salad and rice are also unlimited, so make sure to ask for an extra serving, or two, or three. :P
Every katsu set also comes with picked radish, pickled cucumber and slices of pineapple and watermelon as side dishes. I personally love the pickled radish, though I slowly devour mine instead of finishing it off immediately since I don't want to feel any envy if my friends save their pickled radish for last.
Another thing I love about Yabu is that the staff is always cheery and extra attentive of your requests. It's a win-win with great servce and outstanding food at Yabu, if you haven't tried it don't wait for me to hit you in the head with a big baseball bat. Hahaha, for me Yabu is not just a hype, Yabu is here to stay. See you on my next pig out session! :)
