When I hear Purple Oven, decadent cakes and pies come to mind, that was why I was extra giddy when Batch handed me a box from Purple Oven a few weeks ago. I opened it immediately and I was greeted by *tadaaaa* bread overload!
Quiche Lorraine and Quiche Margherita 85.00PHP (each) or 1.92USD. The last time I had a quiche was waaaay back 2011 in Legazpi Sunday Market. According to a friend of Batch, Purple Oven used to sell there. If the quiches I had back then were indeed from Purple Oven, then they've definitely improved! Very hearty, creamy and delicious. Just needed a little bit of kick which a few drops of hot sauce can fix.
Floss and Sausage Roll 50.00PHP (each) or 1.13USD. Nothing spectacular, but good enough. I prefer BreadTalk's Floss over Purple Oven's.
Ensaymada 60.00PHP or 1.36USD and Cheese Roll 45.00PHP or 1.02USD. My 2 favorites out of the whole bunch! Their breads are soft and milky sweet which complements the saltiness of the cheese. So simple yet it leaves me wanting more.
I want to visit their store soon and hoard buy some more baked goodies, too bad that they don't have any stores open within shopping malls since it would be so much more convenient (at least for me).
What have you tried from Purple Oven? Got any recommendations on which I should try first? See you on my next pig out session. :)
