Sushi and I, we're like old buddies. We go way back my college days, when I was satisfied with the ready to eat variety from convenience stores and supermarkets. As I grew older, I'm glad my taste evolved. I now appreciate and practice "quality over quantity" and how else would I find out where my money's well spent than to get my sushi fix on?

All Hail Ramen Nagi!
Having been a fan of Jin Loves to Eat, I have been constantly salivating over her endless ramen escapades in and out of the country. I even made a mental bucket list of ramen houses to visit as soon as possible, one of them is Butao Ramen.

An Ode To Halo-Halo
It seems to me, that I live not
in South East Asia, but somewhere along a desert in the Middle East with this
unbearable heat. It feels like days since I’ve had a drop of water to quench my
parched throat, my legs seem to buckle and give way on the tiresome and endless
walk. Just when I thought that not a cactus was in sight to take shade in, lo
and behold, I saw an oasis.

Turo-Turo Dining 101
Allow me to kindly take a break and deviate from the fancy schmansy dining. Would you believe that I also enjoy eating at Turo-Turo restaurants? As the term suggests, Turo-Turo literally means pointing out the food you desire behind the glass enclosed food container. As a typical Filipino, you probably have the basics down to pat. Get in line with a tray, pick your viands and don't forget to ask for a plate of hot rice and a bowl of free soup, pay the tindera your unbelievably affordable bill and find a free dining table that's near a functioning electric fan and maybe facing a TV.
