We found ourselves hankering for a good bowl of ramen this week, partially due to the bed weather but more so because we just grab any excuse we can find to pig out. My friends and I initially decided to try Raimen Daisho in Shaw Boulevard, but we found ourselves inside Mitsuyado Sei-Men in Jupiter, Makati which was much closer to home.
Tan Tan Ramen 420.00PHP or 9.65USD (Large). Thank God for menu with pictures, it makes for easier decision making. My friend ordered this because it looked so drool worthy! Honestly, this was my first option as well but for blogging purposes, I ordered a different ramen variety. #bloggerproblems
Their broth leans on the thick, hearty side. We found ourselves unable to polish off the soup because it got cloying after a while, shame. Takaw tingin mode got the better of us again, and I think we all agreed that next time we should just go for regular size like we did in Kichitora.

Ebi Tempura 280.00PHP or 6.43USD. We shared a platter of their Ebi Tempura and it was pretty decent, the prawns were of the big variety and were very plump. The batter had just the right thickness too, no complaints here.
I must apologize for the less than stellar photo quality, we were all very tired and hungry so I had to cut the photography time by half. The photos here are the most decent of the ones I took hihi. We were all in awe of the authentic Japanese vibe and felt we were right smack in the heart of Japan, but the place was so packed that I decided not to take photos of the interiors this time. The sight did however, tripled my wanderlust.
Spicy Miso Ramen 320.00PHP or 7.35USD (Large). My pick for the night. I immediately slurped the broth and was pleased with the ample amount of spice level. It was evident but not over the top, allowing me to enjoy my bowl with gusto. Their ramen is normally served with thick noodles, but you can ask the waitstaff to serve your bowl with the thin kind.
We also ordered their rice bowl for one of my non-pork eating friend, but the photo was blurry so no use putting it here. My ramen partner in crime also enjoyed her ramen, but was left feeling underwhelmed and longing for a bowl from Ramen Bar or Ramen Nagi. Maybe we should have tried their tsukemen instead?
I just realized that ramen posts are slowly taking over my blog, not that that's a bad thing! Maybe one of these days I'll make a best of the best list of ramen joints I've tried so far. Can't wait, but I need to try a few more, for research purposes! Which ramen restaurant should I try next? See you on my next pig out session!
