5 Budget Friendly Eats for the Frugal Foodie

This living payday to payday thing is getting utterly ridiculous, are you with me on this? It's another long weekend, folks... and I'm not headed anywhere because of "priorities" *lol*. So, if you're like me who is trying to make both ends meet until the month end, then stick around to know where you may dine and enjoy the rest of your weekend without making your wallet cry.

1. Cha Time's Chicken Chops with Anatto Rice 103.00PHP or 2.20USD approx
Come for the milk tea, but stay for the food! This has been's Cha Time's edge over one of my other favorite milk tea hangouts, Happy Lemon. I've been a regular customer ever since I've taken a bite of their crisp, juicy and pepper loaded chicken fillet chops years ago. Best paired with a serving or two of anatto rice, however, you also can opt to eat it sandwich style which is loaded with lotsa shredded cucumber and sweet sauce. It's only a win-win situation every time.

Not only that, their burger, chicken chops sandwich and Belgian fries are ridiculously inexpensive but addictive.  I often find myself here twice a week, on average!

For those willing to go as far up north, then this is the place to go. Big on serving and flavor, an order of this can easily shared by two. It's also the perfect pulutan but I don't think liquor is served at the place. A friendly tip, avoid going during peak hours ie. dinner, because the place will be full to the brim.

3. S&R's Pizza Selections 99.00PHP or 2.12USD approx
Hit two birds with one stone, shop for your groceries and feast on their insanely cheap yet yummy pizza offerings. If you have extra, why not treat yourself to some of their decadent churros and milkshakes too.

4. Sisig Hooray's Pork Sisig 65.00PHP or 1.38USD approx
This listicle wouldn't be fair if I didn't include one of my all-time favorites. Greasy and crunchy sisig bits, amplified by the mayo and soy sauce dressing. It's so versatile that you can have it for a full meal, or as a yummy pulutan when you're with barkada.

5. Chihuahua Mexican Grill's Burrito Bowl 195.00PHP or 4.14USD approx
Yeah, something over almost two hundred bucks isn't technically that ''inexpensive'', but their bowls are always big enough for sharing! Additionally, what's nice about the place is loaded with a variety of puzzle games to help you pass time and bond with friends.

So, there you go. I purposely left out Jollibee, McDonald's and other mainstream fast food joints, just because. What are your personal budget friendly go-to meals? Do let me know, and see you on my next pig out session!

Your pig out buddy,
Madz
