Girls Night Out at Johnny Kahuku's Hawaiian Shrimphouse

Aloha, folks! I haven't totally fallen off the grid, as some of you might suspect. I just laid low for much too long. Nevertheless, the delinquent blogger is back, and with new food adventures to boot! First up, Johnny Kahuku's Hawaiian Shrimphouse.

My girl friends and I decided to meet up for a movie (Kung Fu Panda 3!!!), dinner and some catching up session in between, last week. We found ourselves lost over the abundant restaurant choices in Eastwood. Being stuck in such a predicament, we went crazy and tried something new. Oh boy, we all know this can go both ways. So, did we made the right choice? You betcha.

Huli Huli Shrimp 499.00PHP or 10.74USD approx. Garlic and butter flavored shrimps, served with Mongolian BBQ sauce, veggie stir fry and Chinese sausage fried rice. Their portions are good for sharing, that is, if you're willing! Who can resist such plump, juicy and flavor-loaded shrimp? The stir-fried veggies are a much welcome addition to the sinfulness of this dish, with just the right crisp at every bite.

L.A Kalbi Beef Ribs 499.00PHP or 10.74USD approx. US Angus beef short ribs grilled to perfection, topped with grilled onions and kalbi sauce. Oh man, where do I even begin with how awesome this dish is? It's how steak should be. It's so succulent that it'll leave you wanting for more.

Tropical Fish Kahuna 345.00PHP or 7.42USD approx. Marinated grilled milk fish, soy rice and tropical mango salsa. For those who are watching their waistline, this dish is one option to try. The fish is good on its own, you won't even bother with any kind of sauce. However, if you want to up the ante, they have sriracha sauce for that added zing.

What endeared Johnny Kahuku's to me, aside from their food, is their warm and efficient service. It made our dinner a hassle free experience and we left with nothing but happy faces and bursting tummies. I can't wait to try more of their Hawaiian treats next time around. See you on my next pig out session!
