If there's one thing my office mates taught me, it's how to be a "budgetarian". Oh, you know! It's the fine, thin line of wanting a feast but at the fraction of the price. Good thing that there's Hot Star Chicken! From humble beginnings in Taiwan, Hot Star has captured the tummies hearts of many and expanded massively in Australia, Hongkong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Shanghai, Singapore and of course, here in the Philippines. I for one, am not surprised at their success. How can you not get addicted to a juicy piece of gigantic chicken that's fried to golden brown perfection? #foodgasm
Our friends over at Hot Star chicken sent me a humble lunch treat, featuring their newest offerings. What was my favorite? You'd have to stick around to find out :)
First up, can I just say how in love I am with their BBQ Chicken Skin (as seen above)? At only 45.00PHP or 0.98USD approx, you get 2 sticks of ridiculously crunchy, and delicious chicken skin, that it should be illegal. It's meant to be an appetizer, or a side dish but this would go so well with rice! #justasianthings
It's awesome how Hot Star Chicken let's customers have their chicken their own way with their new menu. Pick your choice from Salt & Pepper, Chili Pepper, Barbeque Sauce, Sweet & Sour or Red Hot for those who likes to live on the edge. My office mates particularly liked the Salt & Pepper variety, while I find myself torn between their Original Fried Chicken and their Red Hot variety. What can I say? I like to live my life dangerously. *wink wink*
We paired our chicken with Sticky Rice, priced at 45.00PHP or 0.98USD but you can go ahead and devour your Hot Star Chicken with their Spaghetti (60.00PHP or 1.30USD), Plain Rice or something as simple as their Signature Gravy. No matter how you eat your Hot Star Chicken, your inner "budgetarian" will thank you for it. You can even share an order with a friend, or not at all!
