Easy Peasy Laksa La Mian with Shrimp #PrimaTasteSeries

While I can't entirely say that I love rainy days, there's just something so relaxing about this so called 'bed weather' that I often find myself cravi ng for anything hot, rich and comforting.  And nothing spells more comforting than a bowl of laksa.

Singapore Chilli Crab La Mian #PrimaTasteSeries

I received a bundle of goodies a few weeks ago from Prima Taste Singapore, and I couldn't have been more stoked at having the opportunity to cook my heart out and experiment again in the kitchen. Truth be told, I tend to stick to Hainanese chicken and good old laksa that I have minimal to zero knowledge about other Singaporean based dishes. Then I picked up the Chilli Crab Noodle packet, and I've never been the same since.

Impromptu Dinner at Ippudo Ramen

I know, I know! Ippudo has been in the Philippine scene since September, but the lines are always insanely long and my tummy just couldn't handle the ridiculous waiting time when I know I could have had dinner elsewhere, sans all that unnecessary hassle. Thank God for holiday operating hours, my office mates and I were able to walk in without the killer lines after doing overtime and several rounds of bowling.

Back for Seconds At Ikkoryu Fokouka Ramen

Before you hurl your mouse at your screen and complain the obvious fact that I am back on a cloying and already tiresome "ramen roll", first things first; I am not sorry. I love ramen, you guys! It's the epitome of comfort in a bowl, it's a serving of happiness in this cold, cruel world but most of all, it's my Kryptonite. I'm not kidding.

It's A Ramen Kind Of Night At Mitsuyado Sei-Men

We found ourselves hankering for a good bowl of ramen this week, partially due to the bed weather but more so because we just grab any excuse we can find to pig out. My friends and I initially decided to try Raimen Daisho in Shaw Boulevard, but we found ourselves inside Mitsuyado Sei-Men in Jupiter, Makati which was much closer to home.

Kichitora of Tokyo at SM Megamall

Time flew so fast that once again, rainy season is upon us. Though regardless of the weather, I always have a constant hankering for a sumptuous, nourishing and comforting bowl of ramen. As if it isn't obvious through this blog already!

All Hail Ramen Nagi!

Having been a fan of Jin Loves to Eat, I have been constantly salivating over her endless ramen escapades in and out of the country. I even made a mental bucket list of ramen houses to visit as soon as possible, one of them is Butao Ramen.

Ramen Bar

"A bowl of ramen is a self-contained universe with life from the sea, the mountains, and the earth. All existing in perfect harmony. Harmony is essential. What holds it all together is the broth. The broth gives life to the ramen." - Maezumi, The Ramen Girl.

Flavors of Naga: My First Taste of Kinalas

Before I left for Naga, I pestered asked my officemate Joey to give me the ultimate list of must-try Naga specialties. He mentioned Laing Pizza, Toasted Siopao to name a few but what caught my attention the most was Kinalas. I couldn't imagine what it was like and that made me want to try it all the more.

My Not So Funny Experience at Funny Funny

Beef Bowl
PHP 120.00 or $ 120.00

Pardon the redundant title, but this one's for real. My officemates and I found ourselves with the usual dilemma everyday, where to eat? So while we were wandering aimlessly, we saw this restaurant that at far, looked like Kenny Rogers Roasters, but it wasn't. They had a "Pre-Opened" sign up front but we went inside anyway. :)

Revisiting Mey Lin Pot And Noodle House

Aside from being Japanese cuisine aficionados, BF and I have developed a love for Chinese cuisine as well (although nothing too exotic for me, I try to play it safe and common with my meat choices, thank you very much), and what better restaurant to enjoy good Chinese food than at Mey Lin Pot and Noodle House. I find out for myself that rain or shine, I always crave for their hearty noodle soups that never fails to hit the right spot.

Mey Lin Pot And Noodle House

My love for Mey Lin's hand pulled noodles began mid 2009 I think, I'd have to thank my former officemate for letting BF and I know about their awesome food. Sadly though, since I'm currently working at home, and home is located in a far, far, far away place, when I crave for Mey Lin's noodles, I almost cry. Just kiddin'.

There are a few branches of Mey Lin Pot And Noodle House around but BF and I prefer to dine in with the one inside Megamall. After months of craving, our taste buds and tummies were finally satisfied after going to Pasig for a programming sideline of his, we made sure to drop by Mey Lin right after. (I actually ate nothing on the way so that I pig out!)

Upon being seated, they will give you a pot of lukewarm tea on the house. Frankly, I'm not much into tea, except if it's cold and flavorful. The taste is just subtle, but hey as I said I'm not a tea lover so I'm not really an expert in rating so let me steer clear away from that. :)
