I love October, for multitudes of reasons, although the one reason I could think on top of my head is that, it's our anniversary month, 6 years and counting! :)

On Blogging Goals, Principles And Directions
The blogging world has been deeply shaken this week. If you don't know the incident I am referring to, kindly check and read HERE to catch up on all the ongoing brouhaha.
This made me think about my blog. Which direction is my blog going into? Majority of my posts are really from personal dining experience although I do have entry where I was invited to sample a start-up restaurant's dishes. I'll be truthful that in that one event, I wasn't obliged to pay and wasn't paid anything in return. There were no freebies given to me, well, except for the free food.
I was honest enough to disclose the details so as not to mislead the readers plus I did my best to be honest and point out a few points of improvements, but after reading Marketman's post about Ethics in Journalism and Food Journalism, I had a lot of thoughts to keep me thinking throughout tonight.
1. When invited for a food event, should I pay for what I consume at all times? What do you readers think and feel when you read a post and find out that I didn't pay, do you simply have no care about it or think I am a just another "eat and run" blogger?
2. Should I or should I not accept freebies, when available? I have no experience regarding this yet, but freebies might be equivalent to "bribe" to some people out there, additional things that might help the blogger write more positively about the event.
3. How would you feel if I accept sponsored posts in the future? Again, I would always disclose it but do sponsored posts affect my blog's credibility? Would you think ill of me and just stereotype me as one of those bloggers who would write glowing reviews for the sake of money? At the moment I have some potential sponsored posts in the works and right now I'm not so sure anymore on what to do.
I started food blogging in the first place because I just simply wanted to share all my good and even the not so good food discoveries. Along the way I realized it would be nice to attend events and try to monetize my blog, but now I'm skeptic. In your own opinion, which version of my blog would you read more, the one where all posts are just from personal dining experience or the one where a few sponsored posts and restaurant food tasting events are thrown in?
I know there's nothing wrong with trying to earn a few bucks while doing what you love, in this case blogging, but where do I draw the line? Help me out please?
Your pig out buddy,

My New Year's Food/Health/Wellness Resolutions
I know I don't post pictures of myself all over my blog posts and some of you may not even know what I look like, if you're curious enough you can take a peek at my "About The Author" page. Now, if I say I was really a thin person back then, would you believe me?

What's In My Bag?
I tinkered with my Flickr account and integrated my food blog with it, but why a "what's in my bag?" post you ask?

Personal: My Renovated Room
For years my room has been plain old boring. While studying I couldn't persuade my parents to have my room renovated, so there was no use since of course I couldn't afford it. But now...I have my work that humbly speaking pays well enough, I decided it's time for that much needed renovation.
Renovating a room was easier said than done when you really don't have a particular theme in mind, I spent a couple of days Googling(this isn't even a word!) bedroom designs. I switched from green >> black >> black and white >> black and violet >> black and maroon until finally to black and violet theme. Finally! Talk about indecisive huh?
BF and I went shopping for the ceiling light, and it was pretty much a hard task since there were so many designs, until I finally chose the ceiling light that can accommodate 4 light bulbs and has that swirly capiz shell like design.

Genevieve!
Meet my new baby Genevieve. Chum and I bought her just this weekend. She's named after Madeline's dog. Madeline who is a young adventurous heroine in a quite popular children's story book, and incidentally has a neighbor named Pepito. People who know me personally will get the inside joke. :)

"www.pigoutsessions.com" Is In Transition
Hi guys! Did you get the catch just by looking at the title? Well well! If you did, cool! It was only yesterday that I read about Golden's baptismal with a new name to her website, so the same thought kept bugging me for the whole night. I mean, why not do it too? Good thing the process was relatively lightning fast, quite affordable and easy. :)
So now, you guys can visit me on www.pigoutsessions.com, please don't get me wrong, I like Blogspot, but it feels so liberating to lose the ".blogspot" suffix. All I can say for now is to expect more frequent blogging from this girl! :)

My Latest Gadget: NETGEAR WIRELESS-N 300 ROUTER WNR2000
Just sharing my latest tech buy, now I can surf the web with my DSi, iPod Touch, HP notebook and desktop PC. I initially wanted to buy the white version (but with different mbps), since it looks cleaner, but with my experience with white computer hardware, white tends to become yellowish after some time.
That's it. Have to go back to work, work will be crazy the next few weeks!
