Joey Pepperoni Pizzeria

Pizza and Pasta places have been multiplying in numbers and with so many places to choose from, you just have to go for it some time and set out on a new adventure. I'm not really the type of person who heads to a restaurant straight up when it's just newly opened. Like other normal people, I wait for the hype, let it cool down a bit, and then pay a visit. :)

Pesto Pasta
Php 145.00 or $ 3.31

I really have a bad habit of ordering food that's not in the restaurant's must try or best seller list, so sue me, haha! As I was reading their menu, my eyes seemed glued to the pasta selection and ordered their Pesto pasta. Must be some will inside of me to get a bite of a better tasting Pesto pasta.

Silly me that I didn't read the details, so I couldn't help but feel a face palm moment when I saw that instead of chicken they pair it with string beans and potatoes. The Pesto pasta wasn't that bad, I guess way better than the one I had in a past pig out disaster albeit it still kind of lacked character.

The garlic stick that comes along with it has a subtle garlic flavor but has that nice crunch, just be sure to munch on it while it's still a bit hot as the crunchiness kind of goes away soon. You might also want to note that the serving is actually good for two people already.

Fondente Brownie ala Mode
Php 85.00 or 1.94

I rarely order desserts but since that day was a happy one (the day I got multiple good feedbacks and a great job offer) I thought, why not wrap the day up with something sweet to make me feel good, right? So I ordered their Fondente Brownie ala Mode and asked for it to be served later.

I love the plating they did and spent a few minutes taking shots at different angles, trying to give my dessert justice, all the better I guess because the melting effect looks good enough for me. The grated chocolate on top is more on the bitter sweet part and the kind that melts in your mouth. I love how the fusion of cold vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate brownie collides and blends in perfectly with each bite.  I just don't know if I'm a light eater now or desserts aren't really my thing. Halfway through my dessert and I was already full.

Overall, the food wasn't anything outstanding ( and I didn't order any recommended item from the menu) but the service was very warm and attentive and that makes me feel good. I just forgot to ask for their names but I still thanked them before I left. I had a feeling already then that with that kind of service, I might be back real soon and that next time, force myself to try their must try dishes. Actually, as of writing, I've already gone back and yes I did order their must try dishes, I'll post my second pig out session at Joey Pepperoni Pizzeria soon. :)
